Ray Bowers

In a former life Ray lived for 18 years in Belize engaged in various noteworthy occupations from managing hotels, to selling real estate, to operating his own dive charter business, and often captaining some of his 3 offshore dive vessels. Very familiar with marine operations, with resort enterprises, and with real estate transactions, “Captain Ray” is also a consummate host who knows how to walk around in the shoes of his clients.

When he came to Telluride in 1997, he jumped right into his new mountain real estate career with vigor and was voted “Realtor of the Year” by his peers after only 1-1/2 years in the business. Ray has been on the Board of Directors of the Telluride Association of REALTORS as Treasurer and as Director of the Multiple Listing Service and has served on other boards including the Telluride Theatre and HOA’s for several significant owners’ associations, the likes of Telluride Ski Ranches.

Having acquired a keen interest in the legal aspects of real estate transactions, Ray possesses an effective understanding of real estate law, offers excellent negotiating skills for his clients, and protects his clients’ interests with great care. Having represented himself “pro se” in his own legal case (and winning), he also has represented over 120 clients for protesting their property tax assessments with a winning record of over 95%. With his successful protests he has saved property owners 100’s of thousands of tax dollars.
Besides being skilled at the transaction side, for sellers he prices and promotes properties skillfully and for buyers he roots out everything on the market that might suit the needs of his buyer clients. Protective of his high level of integrity, he is ferociously honest and enjoys having fun with his clients while doing the best and most genuine job possible.
