A lifelong resident of Monterey County, Vilia Kakis Gilles adds a true local's in-depth knowledge of the Monterey Peninsula and the Salinas Valley to her successful and long career as a realtor. After graduating from Stanford University in 1977, Vilia worked as a journalist until her desire to return to the Monterey Peninsula brought her home.

Since joining Sotheby’s International Realty, Vilia has consistently been a top producing agent and ranks not only as a top producer locally, but also in the top 1% of all Realogy Brokerage Group agents nationwide.

Vilia's commitment to excellence in everything she does is reflected in her real estate work ethic. She is proof that one can do business with friends. As she strives to exceed expectations with every transaction, her genuine care for her clients develops into friendships which have led to a career based on referrals and repeated business.

During her 37+ years in real estate, Vilia has represented a broad spectrum of sellers and buyers, from the owners of the iconic SFB Morse estate on the first fairway of Pebble Beach to several first-time home buyers. She approaches each situation with the same high level of attention and expertise.

A property owner both locally and internationally, Vilia understands the intricacies of global property ownership. She enjoys representing clients from abroad who appreciate the value and beauty of the Monterey Peninsula.

Her interests include vacationing at her home in Greece, equestrian events, tennis, hiking, and collecting early California art, antiques and estate jewelry. She is also a personal property appraiser. Vilia has served many charitable organizations. When her children were in school, she was an active parent volunteer at Stevenson, Santa Catalina and Carmel High Schools. Along with her real estate affiliations, she is also a member of the Monterey Peninsula Stanford Club, Stanford Alumni Association, Institute of Noetic Sciences, Carmel Highlands Association, Monterey Bay Aquarium and the Hellenic Cultural Society.
