Richard Sankar

Richard Sankar is a distinguished real estate professional whose career spans more than three decades across Canada and the Caribbean. Originally from Trinidad, Richard moved to Toronto in 1982 to pursue his education at Toronto Metropolitan University, earning a Bachelor of Business Management before launching a successful career in the IT sector. His early professional years strengthened his abilities in client relations, analytical thinking, and project management—skills that would later form the foundation of his real estate career.
Richard obtained his Ontario Real Estate Sales License in 1993 and quickly built a reputation as a knowledgeable and trusted advisor in the Toronto and Picton residential markets. In 1997, he relocated to Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, where he rapidly became the top-producing agent at Prestigious Properties for nearly a decade. His commitment to professionalism, honesty, and client service led him to co-found Tropical Paradise Realty in 2007, a boutique firm known for its personalized and strategic approach.
Dedicated to expanding his expertise, Richard earned a Master of Science in Real Estate Development, deepening his analytical and development-focused skill set. This advanced education has cemented his reputation and credibility not only as a versatile all-rounder but also as a trusted consultant for development clients and investors.
In 2012, Richard merged Tropical Paradise Realty with Turks & Caicos Sotheby’s International Realty, leveraging the global reach and prestige of the Sotheby’s International Realty brand. Today, as Broker and Co-Owner, he brings decades of local insight, strong negotiation skills, and a global network to clients seeking luxury homes, development opportunities, and investment properties across the Turks and Caicos Islands. His leadership continues to elevate the brokerage’s market presence and uphold its standards of excellence.
A founding member of the Turks & Caicos Real Estate Association (TCREA), Richard has served as Treasurer for more than a decade, contributing significantly to the professional growth and integrity of the local industry.
