She has a Bachelor of Science in Radio/Television/Film from Northwestern University and also studied abroad, spending a semester at a university in Israel. She is an avid supporter of many local arts and health organizations and is proud to have served for six years on the Board of Directors for the Center for Coastal Studies, an organization whose mission includes protecting and disentangling whales and other marine life, and preserve our coastal environment.
