A native and loyal resident of California, Wayne Heck grew up in Glendora. He graduated from San Diego State University. Shortly after graduation, he and four fellow classmates took over a failing restaurant and turned it into a successful venture, the Quiet Woman in Corona del Mar. An entrepreneur at heart, he opened his first Haagen-Dazs shop in Newport Beach after ten years at The Quiet Woman. During this time, he was also the Varsity baseball coach for Newport Harbor High School in 1983-1988. He brought the team to the CIF finals! It was a great highlight for Wayne.

Wayne eventually opened two more Haagen-Dazs shops, one in Fashion Island and another in Downtown Disney, which became the number one Haagen-Dazs in the world. He also owned a shoe and sandal store, California Sole in Downtown Disney.

Always a real estate enthusiast, Wayne “flipped” his first home in Irvine in the late 70’s to buy his “dream home” on the 200 block of Iris in Corona del Mar. He officially began his real estate career at Waterfront Homes where he spent several successful years. Wayne is actively back in the real estate business and is privileged to work at Sotheby’s in Newport Beach.

Bringing decades of expertise in the real estate industry, with deep roots in Newport Beach, Wayne is highly regarded by professionals in his field. He is well connected, involved with, and is esteemed in the Orange County community. His years as a small business owner also provided Wayne vast experience in award winning customer service, attention to detail, and has built a reputation founded upon integrity, excellence, and hard work.

Wayne is married to his wife, Cate, and they have one beautiful daughter, a terrific son-in-law, two little grandsons, and a baby granddaughter. The Hecks lived in Corona del Mar when first married and have lived on Lido Isle for the past 33 years. Wayne and Cate attend Mariners Church and actively support several ministries. Wayne served ten years on the board of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Cate is on the board of Kerus Global Education, which does orphan care in South Africa and tirelessly works to end child trafficking worldwide.

A man of faith, devoted to his wife and family, and a true baseball fan, Wayne’s core values are solid. He took his father’s advice to “do what you love” as a career and has found success and fulfillment in real estate and owning his own businesses.

Wayne is passionate, supportive, experienced, committed, and will guide you through the entire process of helping you find your ideal home. He will go to bat for you!
