Meet Ian:

Since joining Aspen Snowmass Sotheby’s International Realty, Ian has distinguished himself as a leading broker in the valley as well as an expert in luxury rentals. He consistently delivers results for his clients by combining an intense work ethic, market knowledge and instinct.

A graduate of the Stratton Mountain School in Vermont, Ian originally moved to Colorado as a competitive ski racer and became an extreme ski mountaineer. Prior to entering the real estate business, Ian carved out a niche as a big game hunting and fly-fishing guide, highly sought-after by a devoted following of clientele.

He also ran a successful home building firm out of Boulder, Colorado for many years, gaining valuable construction knowledge he brings with him to every showing appointment.

Ian’s long history and relationships in the valley have earned him a reputation for integrity. He maintains his competitive edge by ski racing in the Audi Ajax Cup each year to benefit the Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club.

Ian lives in Old Snowmass with his wife and real estate partner, Etta, their daughter, Blair, and English cocker spaniel, Charlie. When time permits, he’ll be in the mountains—skiing off peaks, stalking elk, riding bikes or waist deep in a river, fly rod in hand.

Etta co-founded The McLendon Team with her husband, Ian, with the goal of delivering the highest level of service and results to real estate clients in Aspen and Snowmass. Together, they have become market leaders in sales volume in a short matter of time.

While living in New York City for over a decade, Etta produced photo shoots around globe with the world’s best talent. As a former magazine editor, her professional background informs The McLendon Team’s elevated real estate marketing.

Etta prides herself on not just providing crisp transaction management, but an ability to communicate the pillars of the Colorado real estate contracts in an easily digestible way.

Etta graduated with honors from both St. Paul’s School and Barnard College at Columbia University. She has held positions as photo director of DuJour Magazine, editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Aspen Peak, and has been published in Architectural Digest, Town & Country and Vogue.com.

A product of Powder Pandas ski school at Buttermilk, Etta is an enthusiastic skier, fly-fisherperson and tennis player. The McLendons can often be found hiking the hills of Old Snowmass with their daughter, Blair, and English cocker spaniel, Charlie.
