Cathy Garren

Cathy Garren, a proud native of Western North Carolina, has proudly called Highlands her home for a quarter of a century. Before venturing into real estate, Cathy spent a decade in the banking industry, notably as a Mortgage Loan Officer and Trust and Estate Officer with First Union National Bank. In the latter role, she skillfully managed the acquisitions and sales of real estate and stock portfolios for her clients.

With an impressive twenty-five years dedicated to the Highlands/Cashiers real estate market, Cathy has been actively involved in listing and selling homes and land. Beyond her real estate endeavors, she has made substantial contributions to the Highlands-Cashiers Board of REALTORS, serving as President, Director on the MLS Committee, and participating in the Professional Standards and Ethics Committees and the Scholarship Committee.

Cathy's expertise extends to various real estate niches, including fine homes and estate properties, conservation easement acquisition and placement, short sales and foreclosures, large land properties, and investment properties. She has also acted as a consultant for property dispute cases with the Jackson County Clerk of Court.

Currently serving as the Broker-in-Charge of the Downtown Office at Highlands Sotheby's International Realty, Cathy takes pride in leading the top-producing office in Highlands for ten consecutive years.
