Situated at an altitude of 1,500 metres between Mont Catogne (2,597.9 m) and La Breya (2,200 m), at the foot of the Mont-Blanc massif, the village of Champex lies on the banks of a mountain lake. It is the starting point for numerous alpine hikes, giving access to the Orny and Trient cabins, among others. The resort is also a stopover on the Tour du Mont-Blanc, on the way to Val d'Arpette or Val de Bovine.
